Chemo #2

Today was my second chemo treatment, so I am 1/2 done with my A/C cocktail. Yea! The docs and nurses are so happy that I am handling it well, this is a MAJOR drug and most people don't do so hot, let alone handle it so well every 2 weeks. There's nothing really new to report about the hair loss (still falling out a little at a time), no nausea, fatigue or anything. I'm a little sleepy from the drugs today and if my child would just stop playing with her Cars in her crib and take her nap, I could get a little sleep too.

Anyway, the buffet spread at the Oncologists today was Dunkin Donuts which I love (the Munchkins), and Halloween candy...maybe some other stuff. However the main event was the politicking going on. I heard it going on from the waiting room and knew this treatment was going to suck. I guess there's a group of Monday patients who are 60+ conservative christian republican cancer patients....yea...not my crowd. NOT AT ALL! So here I am, my liberal independent self having to listen to the NEVER ENDING and extremely LOUD social/economic/political/religious conversation about how BAD Obama would be for America and he would make us socialist. So I get fed up with it and say basically that we have a democracy and it's great that they can spout off about what they think, but when someone disagrees with THEIR perspective they get persecuted. And then...YOUNG people are the reason for our economic crisis and oil shortages...blah blah blah.... NOT ME...I have a responsible and affordable mortgage and drive a Honda Civic.

So that was my super fun chemo treatment today!

I know Lori- I was biting my tongue as much as possible...but those old fogies are in far worse shape than me- colon cancer, lung cancer and chronic lymphoma. They were so stubborn and opinionated it drove me nuts. And the fact that they blame everything on "our generation"...they are the ones eating up all the social security so we won't have a cent in 35 years!
